Two weeks towards Christmas time, our High school Head-teacher and Director of Studies were selected among the many to go to Jinja and join the rest of other trainees to participate in lower secondary new curriculum by some officials from the ministry of Education and sports Headquarter.
Now on coming back, they had to organize for a two days training workshop for all their teaching staff to be knowledgeable and at the same pace.
This new curriculum was introduced by the ministry of education to enhance on the students’ understanding and competence. With this new curriculum, it encourages students to do some kind of practical work rather than the old one where the teachers could lecture. The approach is learner centred and the teachers only need to guide them so that at the end learners can come out fully baked.
